Concert by Bedford Town Brass
On Sunday 23rd February, familiar faces from the MS Therapy Centre welcomed about 70 people to our Concert “Hint of Spring” by Bedford Town Concert Brass at St Marks Church in Brickhill. The Band played a selection of music from a variety of styles including the theme tune from the TV programme Ground Force, Glenn Miller’s Moonlight Serenade and we had a Breeze Down Broadway. Features included the Xylophone Duet “The Twp Imps” performed by Hannah and Jamie getting a thumbs up from the audience for the youth of today. Following a trip around the world in the Journal of Philias Fogg, the audience left with a spring in their step following an encore of The Floral Dance.
Many thanks to the volunteers from the MS Therapy Centre, St Marks Church and the Band who made this possible, the total raised for the Centre was £717.
Final word from an email received the following day from a member of the audience “The music was wonderful, the atmosphere good and the event well organised. We'll look out for future events.”
The volunteer arts team has lots of new events arranged for this year, so do check back for more details.
