    • Great news! Our charity sale in October raised £2,009 - the highest ever, and reached the £2,000 target that the volunteer team have been aiming for this year.

This brings the total for the year to £16,847 - a fantastic amount of money to support our service users living with MS and Parkinson’s.

Find out what it’s all about by coming along to our next sale on Saturday November 16th 10am - noon.

There is always a wide variety of items in our monthly charity sales…

Bric-a-brac

We can’t tell you exactly what will be available and on sale this but there always seems to be something for everyone.

Local people are very generous with their donations of secondhand goods and we make sure that we only include the very best items in our sale.

You’ll probably find a good selection of bargain-priced kitchen items like cups and saucers, serving bowls, kitchen utensils, plus plates, cutlery, saucepans and you might be lucky to find some high quality bone china and high quality glassware.

There’s regularly plenty of vases, picture frames, clocks, ornaments, mirrors, coasters and maybe even some silverware.

Hundreds of high quality books

You are likely to find a wide range of books from popular fiction, local history, natural history and some more esoteric titles, along with some popular children’s books. Most paperback books are available at 4 for £1.

Clothing for every occasion

The fashion experts from our clothing shop are usually available at our charity sale to help you choose from our wide range of items of clothing with a frequent turnover of stock. In the summertime we often have summer dresses, skirts and blouses from some of the top brands.

Ask to see our range of hats and occasion-wear for that summer wedding. We have shoes and handbags too.

There is likely to be plenty of different styles from different decades and you’re unlikely to find better prices, we really do specialise in bargains and you free to try-on any items in our changing rooms.

Refreshments including bacon rolls, tea and coffee.

We are proud of our kitchen, providing hot drinks and snacks every month plus tea and coffee with home made cake.

Our charity sales help us to raise around £10,000 each year

We have had a lot of success and fun holding these events for the last few years and usually raise about £800 each time, so over the year that works out to be around £10,000. Such vital funds to help us run the MS Therapy Centre, which costs over £1000 every day to keep providing all the therapies that make such a difference to the lives of people living with MS.

Thank you to our volunteers

We could not achieve this without the help our of our volunteers who set up the stalls, price-up the goods, manage the stock, signpost the event in the local area, run the kitchen, make the bacon rolls, put the kettle on and make an average of 100 cups of tea or coffee. So a big thanks to all of the helpers. The MS Therapy Centre would not be alive and well without you.
