Kate Philbin
I have had an interest in art and sculpture since I was at school but decided, very sensibly to go into nursing for a more reliable career.
Now retired, I can dedicate more time to my "hobby" and develop my skills.
I enjoy painting seascape scenes especially of The Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland because I spend a lot of time there. I have successfully sold some of my cards at a popular gift shop there.
I have been attending Bedfordshire Arts and Crafts Centre for many years where I have developed skills in Jewellery making, life drawing, pottery and sculpture.
I also have a pottery wheel and kiln at home and spend many afternoons pottering away in my studio.
I also enjoy attending my local art group in the village where I live. I regularly sell my work at local events and have successfully taken on several commissions over the years.
I live in Haynes with my husband Frank and have two grown up daughters.
