Kal Flynn
I’ve always had a lifelong passion for art, history and working with people who have disabilities. A graduate in Illustration from Westminster University, I embarked on the first year of a postgraduate degree at St Martins School of Art.
My artistic identity has been shaped by the revelation of colour theory during my university years. As a professional artist for several years, my work has been recognises for its vibrant and expressive use of colour, earning me the title of a 'Colourist,' also a reflection of my Indian heritage.
My use of mediums is varied oils, acrylics, water colour and silkscreen—I continually challenge myself to push artistic boundaries. My subjects range from flowers, landscapes, and still life to the recent love of portraiture. Each painting and print is a treasured learning experience.
I recently exhibited in Bedford and Chelsea Town Hall this summer. I was shortlisted for the Royal Academy of Art Summer show this year and long-listed for this year’s Jackson’s Art Prize. One of my portraits has been accepted by the Mall Galleries in london, to be exhibited at their Women In Art fair this October 2024.
