David Sharp

David was born in Hitchin, Hertfordshire and now lives in Raunds, Northamptonshire. He is a self taught artist.  He gets his inspiration from the natural world, out walking, photography  and the almost infinite range of art in general.

Late in his professional career, he was given some sticks of willow charcoal from a friend and this sparked his exploration and journey into the art world. He became curious about digital art but after experimenting with this, returned to using traditional mediums; charcoal,  oil pastels and more recently gouache.  He gained some basic drawing skills with a few one to one lessons from a professional artist, Damaris Athene  and then continued to practise on his own.  

He is a member of the Bedford Art Society, Beds Urban Sketchers and the Bedford Art Nomads.

He has never lost his love for charcoal.
