Linda Helliar

I am a local artist and now, being retired, I have more time to pursue my love of art.

I began painting in 2011 after joining an art class run by a professional artist who helped me develop my skills and techniques. I learned how to paint in Watercolour and Acrylic, which I really enjoyed, and from then on I experimented with mixed media, pastes and collage.

My style is a loose, semi abstract, contemporary look, and I try to capture the look and atmosphere of my subjects in my work. I enjoy painting landscapes and flora, using texture.

I have exhibited my art in various galleries and local exhibitions and have had articles in local magazines. My regular art can be seen in Artisans in the Yard in Shefford and at Hitchin Art Hub and I have also exhibited at Gordon Craig Theatre Stevenage and the Mardlebury Gallery, amongst other venues.
