DENISE BOWSER

I’ve been drawing and painting since I was 5. In spite of my huge interest in art as a child, as time went on, I became a journalist and have worked for magazines and newspapers, in addition to radio and television. Art, however, has always been part of my life.

I started devoting more time to art about 8 years ago. I basically do art because it makes me happy and relaxed. When I paint I love the fact that every single line or colour may lead me to a next unexplored artistic route. And it is this surprising and evolving creative element of art that thrills me about the whole process.

I do paintings in acrylics and oils and I also use a range of mixed media. I regard my work as a leap into a world of colours and shapes. I like to use vibrant colours which I attribute to my life experience in sunny South America.

I live in Harpenden and regularly take part in local art exhibitions such as Herts Open Studios, Harpenden Arts Club Annual exhibition, Art on the Common, among many others. I have recently sold several of my pieces to the NHS.
