David Forrester
I started painting in 2001 after seeing Ian King, the watercolourist, on Anglia TV. It was the first time I had come across a programme that really explained the colours, how they mixed and the process of watercolour painting – I was bitten. I am also a great admirer of the watercolourist; David Bellamy having attended several of his residential courses. I find the atmosphere he creates in his paintings is truly inspirational. In the last few years, I have started using acrylics to paint both landscapes and wildlife and the odd dog portrait for friends. Having retired ten years ago I am now looking forward to trying out new techniques and subjects, though I will probably stick with Watercolours and Acrylics.
