Cath Titmus

I first took an interest in art at an early age, but my life took me in a different direction and I gave no further thought to it until 2011 when I joined a drop-in art group run by an artist called Jean Picton. Jean saw something in me, and to this day, I have no idea why, but I am glad she did, as she opened the windows to my soul and helped me more than she ever knew.

I suffer with many health issues, which in turn, have set back my confidence. The more I went to the art group, the more I realised that art isn’t just about painting; there is so much more to it.

My current work incorporates many bright colours, I particularly like the neon paints that are now available. My work consists of mixed media, and I am constantly exploring new techniques as I come across them. I like to abstract from flowers and objeects in nature.

My colours reflect who I am - I think perhaps I am the eternal optimist, definitely a glass half-full person!
