Pop-up Art Exhibition
Information for artists
Private view Friday 4th Oct
Saturday 5th October 10am – 5pm & Sunday 6th October 10.30pm – 4pm
Art exhibition featuring original works for sale by local and national artists at the MS Therapy Centre.
A weekend of art
Join our first annual Pop-Up Art event commencing with a reception preview for invited guests on the evening of Friday 4th October. We hope to have around 100 artists showing their works.
The exhibition opening hours are Saturday 5th October 10am to 5pm & Sunday 6th October 10.30am to 4pm. We ask artists to spend as much time as they can at the event and be available to steward for at least one session during the exhibition. We know that visitors are far more likely to purchase if they can meet the artist.
Submission of artwork
We suggest between 2 – 4 pieces of hung artwork are submitted, but we will have space for unframed pieces and browsers. Very large pieces are counted as two. Artwork is delivered to the centre on Monday 30th Sept and Tuesday 1st October between midday and 5pm. Hung artworks must be labelled and adequately framed for hanging. Up to ten unframed works, suitably protected and labelled may also be submitted and you can provide up to 50 greetings cards.
Sculpture, pottery and jewellery submissions are discussed individually with the artist. Set up for this group of artists is from midday to 3pm on Friday 4th October. It is important that these artists attend throughout the exhibition to look after their work and this will maximise sales.
We charge £10 for up to 4 hung artworks to cover our admin costs.
Commission on sales
All sales are handled by the event committee and artists are remunerated on sales after the event. We take a 33% commission as a donation to the charity. If artists feel they can donate a piece of work or offer a higher percentage commission, we would be very grateful.
Before and after the show
All artwork is hung by the organising committee but we welcome any help with this task
All artwork will need to be collected by the artist on the evening of Sunday 6th October between 5pm & 6pm. The Centre has very little storage space.
We will produce a catalogue of works sponsored by local businesses.
We would love you to provide some background information about you and your art that will be included on our artists webpage.
