Sandra McDougall

Coming from the west coast of Scotland and spending a great deal of time on the east coast I find my work often features those “wee white Houses”, “ quirky harbours” and colours of the sea. With Atlantic sunsets or North sea Sunrises, all with a strong dose of strongly saturated colour.

Most of my work outside of portraiture is in a naïve style and most often originates from collage and ends up the very definition of multimedia. Alternatively its entirely undertaken in oil as most of my Hung exhibits are today.

My paintings sell well and I get a steady stream of commission requests, when I ask why people are interested in owning a piece by me I am most often told that they are “HAPPY PAINTINGS” which I just love to hear. I think my favourite thing is creating paintings/portraits of individual happy Family Homes.

For this exhibition I have submitted a range of work however a larger range of work can be found on my Instagram site @smcdartgallery where you can also leave me a message.
