Sarah Wheatley

Sarah will be demonstrating at our Preview evening and on Saturday morning

As an artist I am fascinated by reinvention; I’m drawn to understanding the connections between historical references and their place in a contemporary world.

I am a painter with a preference for bold colours, predominantly using acrylics and ink.

A desire to understand urban landscapes has created a life-long fascination with the power and scale of city skylines, particularly old industrial giants, whether rejuvenated or abandoned. Every style of architecture sits alongside another, and all serve to show layer upon layer of history, where style and functionality combine to change monstrosities into beauty.

Represented by Little Van Gogh, I regularly solo exhibit my work in workspaces across London, and at galleries in Cambridgeshire. In 2023, I was one of ten female artists selected for a specially curated month-long exhibition, celebrating Women’s History Month in Jamestown, Camden.

Recent exhibitions include Play - A Group Exhibition at The Stone Space, East London and Death of the Spectacle, at Richmond American University, Kensington.
